Here's exactly how your cashback and referral rewards are calculated — no hidden math.

The Split

When you book through VantageTrip, our travel partner (currently Trip.com) pays us a commission. We split that real commission three ways:

• 50% to you — as cashback, whenever you book.
• 20% to whoever referred you — as a thank-you for bringing you to VantageTrip. If you signed up without a referral, this simply isn't paid out to anyone.
• 30% stays with VantageTrip — this is how we keep the platform running, at no cost to you.

A Real Example

Say you book a hotel for RM1,000, and our travel partner pays us a 5% commission on that booking (rates vary by product — hotels are typically around 4–5.5%, flights around 1%):

Why Rates Vary Slightly by Product

Our travel partner pays different commission rates depending on what's booked — hotels typically pay more than flights. This is standard across the travel industry, and it means your exact cashback amount will vary a little depending on whether you booked a hotel, flight, car, or activity. The 50/20/30 split itself never changes — only the real commission it's calculated from.

When You Actually Get Paid

This is the part that catches people off guard, so we want to be upfront about it: cashback isn't instant. Our travel partner only confirms a commission once your stay or trip is completed and their own internal checks pass — this typically takes 40–60 days after your travel date. We can't speed this up; it's their process, not ours.

Once confirmed, we credit your cashback to your account balance, which you can then withdraw (see our Payout Methods page).

What Can Reduce or Cancel Cashback

• If your booking is cancelled or refunded, the commission is cancelled too — so is any cashback tied to it.
• If a booking is disputed or found to violate our travel partner's own terms, the commission may not be paid, and cashback would not be credited or would be reversed if already credited.
